Weekly Summary:

So, I had this whole idea for a huge new feature for MODSonline. Far too many times have I been asked, "I lost my map, how can I get it back" or "My map won't open. Help!" So I contacted a programmer to help me with a solution. That solution was to create a desktop utility that would backup all your mapping and modding files both on your computer and online. Even if your hard drive failed, you would have a safe backup. What stopped me was the price the programmer wanted to build this utility.

What I did was post a poll last Wednesday to see what people thought of the idea to backup your files. Would they be willing to pay a couple bucks a month for the service? There are server fees and the cost of development that needs to be recovered. So far, the answer to poll seems a resounding NO. People don't want such a utility.

There was a part two of this idea that wasn't revealed. However, I can't see it being successful unless part one was somewhat well received. Oh well. Back to the drawing board to come up with another new idea for MODSonline.

If you haven't answered the poll, please do.

Have a great weekend,
foyleman

Yes, I know it's kind of late, but a lot of you might not of saw this around steam. So I will post it here.

If you have steam (if you don't just make one for free) and you have ATI or nVidia you will get certain games free. I list them below.

ATI Card Users:

Half-Life2: Deathmatch + LostCoast, More information here.

nVidia Users:

Portal: First Slice, more information here. EDIT: It also includes HL2 DM and Lost Coast.

Also, a page here is giving you 50% off (scroll down on page) of three steam games for all steam users.

Do not, I repeat, do not click play if you don't want your introduction to Grand Theft Auto IV ruined. Just move along. I've warned you.

the San Fransisco Chronicles reports a potentially dangerous ruling that would allow the custom to search any personal computer without the need to find any previous wrong doing .... scary stuff if they were to start checking for other stuff than child pornography. Personal stuff should remain personal, imho.
