Anti-SPAM Policy
The people here at IGotYourEmail hates Spam just as much as you do. In fact, we spend hours every week looking at way to avoid it and stop it. Our team regularly monitors large import lists and outgoing emails. Any customer found to be using IGotYourEmail for Spam will be suspended from access to their account for further investigation and possible cancellation. If you know of or suspect any violators, please notify us immediately at abuse@igotyouremail.com.
Every email that leaves our system contains a mandatory unsubscribe link. If this link is removed or de-activated in any way from departing mailers, IGotYourEmail will suspend and investigate the customer's account.
What is Spam?
Spam involves sending the same unsolicited message to a large group of recipients. Unlike legitimate commercial pr personal email, spam is generally sent without the explicit permission of the recipients and without the ability of the recipient to deny further mailings. By sending email to only those recipients that have requested to receive it, you are following accepted permission based email guidelines.
What constitutes a pre-existing business relationship?
If a recipient of your email has previously made a purchase or contacted your company for the purpose of exchanging commerce, than that recipient has established a pre-existing business relationship. Sending email to this recipient is not considered Spam as long as they have the ability to remove themselves from future mailings.
Is Spam illegal?
The federal anti-spam law went into effect on January 1st, 2004 and preempts all state laws. While this law will not stop spam, it does make most spam illegal and can cost Spammers money and possible jail time. The law is very specific about the requirements to send commercial email and it is this specificty that enables the federal government to enforce the law. Penalties for violation can include a fine and/or imprisonment for up to 5 years.
How does IGotYourEmail help fight against Spam?
Every email that is sent must follow our strict permission-based mantra :

Your registration page states why you are collecting the site visitor's email address, how you plan to use their address, and that you are complying with the embedded privacy policy. Please note that by accepting our license agreement you have agreed to use only permission-based lists and to never sell or rent your lists. - Easy to Unsubscribe
All emails from IGotYourEmail contain a visible unsubscribe link which allows your subscribers to opt-out of future email campaigns and automatically updates your subscriber lists to avoid the chance of sending unwanted emails to visitors who have unsubscribed. - Always Identifiable
IGotYourEmail encodes your header information into each email that is sent out according to your supplied information. The initial confirmation process verifies your subscription and substantiates you as the sender.
Don't be a Spammer.
- Are you importing a purchased list of ANY kind?
- Are you sending to non-specific addresses such as:
sales@somedomain.com, admin@somdomain.com or other general addresses. - Are you sending to distribution lists or mailing lists which send indirectly to a variety of email addresses?
- Are you sending mailers to anyone who has expressed a desire to be removed from your list?
- Are you sending from a fake email address?
- Are you sending from an email address which you do not own?
- IS the subject line of your mailer misleading?
- Does your email contain a fake unsubscribe link or not contain one at all?
- Are you ignoring unsubscribe requests and not removing these subscribers from your list?
If your answer to ANY of the questions above were YES, then you may be Spammer and you will be denied access to the services of IGotYourEmail.
